Marlboro Music Festival keeps the instruments in their cases

During the summer months, chamber music lives at the Marlboro Music Festival. Set on the scenic campus of the former Marlboro College, the festival is known for joining some of the most influential quartets in chamber music. It also presents tours throughout the year, traveling throughout the country. Despite the expansion, the festival’s history of top-notch performances hasn’t changed since its founding in 1951, and it doesn’t plan to stop,  except for this summer.

Cancellation of the Marlboro Music Festival’s Summer 2020 season, followed the premature conclusion of its spring “Musicians from Marlboro” tour. While saddened by the lack of chamber music gracing the southern Vermont mountains, the festival looks towards 2021 when it will celebrate its 70th season.
