By Danny Zaffarano, Vermont Country correspondent.
Even if the State Fair isn’t part of your annual plans there is something magical about the thought. It’s a recollection of carefree days, bright lights, fast rides, and every type of fried food you could imagine, and maybe a few you haven’t yet. And while you may not be able to buy much with a nickel, and attractions have come and gone, the Vermont State Fair still offers that nostalgia that only a state fair can.
Many Ways In, But They All Lead to Fun

The first thought when you get to the Rutland and see the Fair grounds is “Where do I park?” For this you have a few options. There are a couple of places on Park Street that will allow you to park for a fee, but the fair has ample parking within the grounds as well with entrances on Main Street and Dana Ave.
An underground tunnel connects you from the car park to the fairgrounds.
What To Do First?

The Vermont State Fair offers various rides, carnival games, and shows. There are no bad options when it comes to deciding what to do first.

From knocking over milk bottles to ringing a duck, test your skill and luck and maybe you will win the big prize.

Rides of all types are here for riders of all ages. From the Ferris Wheel to the Carousel.

Some rides may be more intense than others.
And Beyond the Fun and Games?

There are a number of exhibits around the fairgrounds to educate and entertain.

Throughout the day demonstrations and live shows can be found throughout the fairgrounds.

At its heart The Vermont State Fair is an Agricultural Fair, so of course there will be animals as well as farm equipment and 4H exhibits.
And of course, what would a fair be without food? From grilled to fried to frozen you can eat your way from one end of the fair to another.
